Host

Fred MacAulay is well known throughout Scotland and the UK from numerous appearances on tv shows like QI, Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You. He presented the Radio Scotland ‘MacAulay and Co’ morning show for almost 18 years and can now be heard on Radio 4 with his stand-up show ‘Fred at the Stand’ - the third series of which will be recorded soon. He had his thirty-first Edinburgh Fringe run in 2019 and still enjoys performing at The Comedy Store, London as well as popping up now and then at Scotland’s top stand up venues between national tours. Still remembered fondly for McCoist and MacAulay, it’s hard to believe the final series was 20 years ago!!!
Returning again as host for the evening Fred said “Sport is a vital and essential part of our country and our many communities. It’s equally vital that we recognise and celebrate the achievements of ‘the best’ - both personal or as part of a team - and this event is the best at doing that. Stand up comedy is a solitary game, so I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with our sporting greats.”
